FREE all ages family singing workshops in Southampton
Southampton Music Hub is delighted to announce that Choral Clans, our community singing project, will continue to run again this year from September after fantastic feedback from this years’ participants. The aim of this project is to inspire families to get singing, enjoy the health and well-being benefits it brings and enjoy the power of participating together!
The workshops will take place on the 1st Saturday of every month from September to December and every two weeks on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month from January to March. This will lead us up to a final workshop and performance day at Southampton City Art Gallery before Easter.
The workshops are completely FREE to attend. No experience is necessary just bags of enthusiasm for the chance to perform, learn, enjoy and be enriched. We will be holding the workshops in different locations in libraries around the city so that everyone has a chance to attend somewhere close to home if necessary, however you are welcome to attend as many sessions as you like.
These community workshops are aimed at family groups be that parents with children, grandparents, distant cousins twice removed or even best friends (because let’s face it, they’re family too!). Children from primary school age and up are welcome to attend but please make sure an adult accompanies them (and sings along with gusto of course) at all times.
Experienced and inspirational vocal workshop leader and choral director Fiona Funnell will continue to lead these sessions. Fiona has the ability to enable adults and children of all ages to express themselves musically through her own fun, practical and accessible style.
